I keep hearing about women's heart health. What's all the buzz about?
This week's question was from Helen in Fresno: I keep hearing about women’s heart health. What’s all the buzz about?
Heart disease is the number one cause of death among females in the United States. About one of every four women who die each year in the United States, die from heart disease. Because of this high rate, women need to be aware of what they can do to decrease the chance of getting heart disease. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about how diet, coupled with an exercise program geared toward your cardiovascular system, and knowing about your risk factors for heart disease such as family history or cholesterol numbers can help you live a longer, healthier life.
