A Tradition of Quality, Service and Value.
Our Lucky stores provide Bay Area shoppers with a broad selection of fresh, high quality products at the lowest prices offered by a full service supermarket. Lucky stores now carry a full selection of Sunny Select, Sunnyside Farms, World Classics international foods, Paws pet care, Top Care health and beauty products, Full Circle Organics, Pacific Coast Café, Valu Time, Master Cut meats, Master Catch seafood, and Foxbrook and Piccinini Wines.
The Lucky story began with Charles Crouch, the original owner of Lucky stores, who purchased the chain in 1931 and became known as an innovator in grocery retail. His idea to provide a great selection of fresh products under one roof proved to be a winner and he began to call the stores his "lucky stores." We are proud that we have been able to carry on Charles Crouch's legacy.
Lucky is committed to working with the communities and businesses that they serve. Some of Lucky's major marketing events include sponsorship of the Golden State Warriors and Oakland Raiders as official grocery store, the Oakland Art & Soul Festival, Chinese New Year Parade and Floral Fair in San Francisco, and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. Additionally, Lucky sponsors Bringing It Home cooking show and Hey Kids Let's Cook on public Television stations.
Some of the many organizations Lucky contributes to include MDA, City of Hope, Children's Hospitals, The Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, the Center for Human Services, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, United Way, local food banks, all public and private schools, health agencies in their market areas, and many more local civic organizations.
There are 70 stores under the Lucky banner; they are located throughout the Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties.
