Peak Season Picks Peaches

Peaches are a great source of antioxidants, including chlorogenic acid, which is known to protect the body against diseases such as cancer and chronic problems. Their peak months are May through October.


  • A red blush on the peach does not indicate ripeness. The background color should be overall creamy or yellow.
  • Choose peaches with unbruised and unwrinkled skin.


  • Keep unwashed in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.


  • Peaches can be served as is. Like other fruits, the skin of a peach is packed with fiber and several important vitamins and minerals.
  • Peaches are also great when combined with low-fat yogurt and granola.
