Lucky and Lucky California Stores Rounding-up Peanut Butter to Stock-up Shelves at Local Food Banks

Modesto Calif. – Lucky Supermarkets is proud to announce that their annual Peanut Butter Roundup campaign begins tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1! Peanut Butter Roundup is The Save Mart Companies, parent company of Lucky Supermarkets, signature campaign that aims to stock-up the shelves of our local food banks right as summer starts and thousands of children across the state lose access to their school lunch programs. This May, all Lucky and Lucky California stores will offer a special promotion on a select variety of Jif peanut butter—making it easy for shoppers to Buy One and Give One in any of our stores.

“Peanut butter is a great donation,” expressed Stacia Levenfeld, Executive Director of Public Affairs for The Save Mart Companies. “It is nutritious, high in protein, shelf-stable and kids love it! Here at The Save Mart Companies, we are dedicated to helping our communities thrive and live healthy lifestyles. We are proud to partner with the local food banks in our communities.”

Beginning May 1 through the 14, Lucky customers can buy one jar of peanut butter and get a second jar free to donate in food bank branded barrels located at stores. Last year, Save Mart and Lucky stores in both Northern Nevada and California collected 15 tons of peanut butter … that’s enough to make over a quarter-million sandwiches. That’s a lot of happy kids and full tummies!

Take advantage of the Buy One/Give One peanut butter promotion beginning May 1 through the 14 at your neighborhood Lucky and Lucky California grocery stores.
